  • The Self Help Center (Administrative Office of the Courts, 500 North King Street, Suite 11600, Wilmington).  The Self Help Center deals with Family Court matters.  Volunteers are needed to assist individuals with computer research and with choosing the correct forms for their particular problem.  The time frame needed is approximately 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with Tuesday being their busiest day.  Volunteer attorneys are also on site.  Contact Mary Ann Hillis at 302-255-2599 for more information or to volunteer.
  • Delaware Volunteer Legal Services is planning a week long celebration beginning October 25, 2009 as part of the ABA National Pro Bono Celebration, and they are looking for volunteers to help out.  One of the events is a 5K walk/race on November 1 in Rockford Park.  The committees that need our help include awards, sponsorship, food, public relations, registration and clean up for the 5K.  Events that are tentatively planned are an awards breakfast, various seminars, evening cocktail reception, CLEs, a mock trial in family law and the 5K walk/race.
  • Ronald McDonald House has a variety of ways you can help — receptionist, kitchen helpers and data entry.  Their hours are 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and each shift is three hours.  You can volunteer on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.  Their website (www.rmhde.org) has all the information you need to get started.
