The Self Help Center
The Self Help Center, at the Administrative Office of the Courts, 500 North King Street, Suite 11600, Wilmington, deals with Family Court matters. Volunteers are needed to assist individuals with computer research and with choosing the correct forms for their particular problem. The time frame needed is approximately 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with Tuesday being their busiest day. Volunteer attorneys are also on site. Ronald McDonald House
The Ronald McDonald House has a variety of ways you can help, including working as a receptionist, kitchen helper and/or data entry. Their hours are 9:00 AM. to 9:00 PM, and each shift is three hours. You can volunteer on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Their website has all the information you need to get started.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is located in all three counties and is always looking for volunteers. You can volunteer in their Restore or on a construction site. You do not need to be experienced in construction to help. All the information you need to volunteer may be found on the following Habitat websites:
Community Legal Aid Society, Inc. (CLASI)
CLASI, with offices in Wilmington, Dover and Georgetown, is looking for volunteer paralegals to assist their attorneys with intake and client interviews, fact investigations, document requests, legal research, document drafting and community education activities.
